Selling on Amazon means maintaining product data, stock and orders in a format of its own and via its own interfaces, alongside your shop and ERP. I develop custom integrations that connect Amazon automatically with your shop or ERP system, both for Seller Central via the SP-API and for Vendor Central.
What I build for Amazon
- Creating and maintaining listings: Product data is transferred to Amazon in the required format, including items with variants. Creations, changes and deletions run automatically.
- Syncing stock: Stock levels from your shop or ERP are reported to Amazon continuously, so you never sell more than you can deliver.
- Retrieving and confirming orders: Incoming orders arrive automatically in your shop or ERP system, and shipping and confirmations go back to Amazon.
- Processing returns: Return data from Amazon is prepared and linked to your internal items.
- Reports and payout data: Amazon reports as well as payout and fee data are retrieved automatically instead of being collected by hand.
- Connecting Vendor Central: As a vendor (Amazon as the buyer), orders and confirmations run via the Vendor interface directly into your ERP.
Excerpt from my Amazon projects
- Vendor API and Xentral: An integration of the Amazon Vendor API with Xentral. Orders are transferred and confirmed back, and various Amazon reports are retrieved.
- Listings with variants via SP-API: An ongoing project for a large fashion catalog: listings with variants are created, updated and deleted via the SP-API.
- Returns processing: A returns list provided by Amazon is processed. Items that Amazon identifies only by ASIN are linked to the internal material numbers, and the result is available as a searchable table.
This is an excerpt from my completed projects, not a complete list of my services. Amazon offers extensive options with the SP-API and the Vendor interface, and whatever else you need, I build individually. If your project does not appear here, just get in touch.
Ready-made tool or custom integration?
There are many ready-made tools and connectors for Amazon. They cover the standard case. When a custom integration pays off, the comparison shows:
| Ready-made tool or connector | Custom integration | |
|---|---|---|
| Fits if | Your process follows the standard | You have special logic, large variant catalogs or vendor processes |
| Customization | Limited to none | Fully adaptable |
| Counterpart | Only systems supported by the tool | Any system with an API or file interface |
| Data sources | Usually one | Several sources can be combined |
| Costs | Ongoing license or subscription fees | One-time development, running costs usually lower |
Technology: how I work with Amazon
For Seller Central I use the SP-API (Selling Partner API), for Vendor Central the Vendor interface. Listings are transferred in the format Amazon specifies, and orders and reports are retrieved via the respective interfaces. We agree together, per data flow, which data leads in the shop or ERP and which at Amazon.
Process
- Clarify data flows: Seller or vendor, which data goes in which direction, which special cases are there?
- Build and test: I build the integration and test it with real data before it goes live.
- Go-live and operation: The integration runs in the background, runs are logged, and I implement process changes afterwards.
Every project is different, so you receive an individual quote after we have agreed the details.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between seller and vendor?
As a seller you sell to end customers yourself and manage listings, stock and orders in Seller Central. As a vendor you sell to Amazon, which acts as the buyer and resells the goods itself. For sellers the SP-API is the way in, for vendors there is a separate Vendor interface. I implement both.
Can I connect Amazon to my ERP?
Yes. For example, I have connected Xentral with Amazon Vendor. weclapp, JTL and other ERP systems can be connected to Amazon as well.
Can listings with variants be created automatically?
Yes. Product data is transferred from your system in the required Amazon format, including variants. Creations, changes and deletions run automatically.
Can Amazon returns be processed automatically?
Yes. Return data from Amazon can be prepared and linked to your internal items, so that it can be used directly in the warehouse or in accounting.
Does Amazon also work via Tradebyte?
Yes, Amazon can also be served as a marketplace via the Tradebyte hub, see Tradebyte integration.
